Leana Wen: Planned Parenthood Fired Me Because “I Did Not Prioritize Abortion Enough”

Newly fired CEO Leana Wen confirmed again that Planned Parenthood is primarily an abortion business, not a health care provider.

In a column at the New York Times on Friday, Wen said abortion politics was the main reason for her sudden departure from the largest abortion chain in America.

A medical doctor, Wen said she stepped into the leadership role focusing on Planned Parenthood as a health care provider, which is what it claims to be.

“To counter those who associate the organization with only abortion and use this misconception to attack its mission, I wanted to tell the story of all of its services — and in so doing, to normalize abortion care as the health care it is,” Wen wrote.

But the billion-dollar “non-profit’s” board had different goals. Last week, the board abruptly fired Wen after a “secret meeting.” According to the New York Times, the Planned Parenthood board engaged in “hours of negotiations” and ultimately canned Wen, citing the need for a “more aggressive political leader.” Continue reading…
